FROM THE CO-EDITORS-IN-CHIEF

We are pleased to bring you the Winter 2024 issue of the International Journal of Arts Management, which features six articles addressing a wide range of topics of interest to arts management researchers, practitioners, and educators.
This issue’s Editors’ Choice article, by Paulin Gohoungodji and Nabil Amara, presents an extensively researched and well-constructed systematic literature review on the topic of sustainability practices in music festivals. We had the pleasure of meeting Paulin at the 2023 AIMAC Doctoral Symposium, and we are delighted to be able to publish his work in IJAM.
The Winter 2024 issue further features articles on the diverse topics of corporate sponsorship of the arts, coopetitive business models, artistic director career trajectories, and families playing digital games together, exemplifying the interdisciplinary nature of arts management research.
Finally, this issue’s Case Study examines the revitalization of rural areas through art, focusing not on a single arts organization but rather an entire community and its relationship to the arts, which we believe will provide an interesting perspective for arts management students. A reminder that teaching notes for the case studies are available by contacting ijam@hec.ca.
This is also the first issue of IJAM to be offered exclusively in digital format. In keeping with the theme of sustainability and green practices, IJAM has discontinued print issues of the journal. The shift to digital only subscriptions reflects the overall preferences of our readership and enables us to provide you with online access to accepted articles as soon as they are published. Digital subscribers to IJAM will continue to receive their subscription as they do currently and print subscribers can convert their subscriptions to digital format by contacting ijam@hec.ca
In other IJAM news, the second annual IJAM Paper Development Workshop will be held on June 22, 2024, prior to the AIMAC conference in Lisbon, Portugal. Look for the call for papers coming soon.
We are also in the second testing phase for our new online submission system and hope to roll it out to all authors and reviewers later this year.
Finally, a reminder that PhD students can sign up for our PhD Reviewer Mentorship Program. For more information, contact ijam@hec.ca.
We are looking forward to an exciting 2024. We hope to continue to receive your submissions and to see you in Lisbon this summer!
