FROM THE EDITOR

For the second time, we are pleased to publish a special issue on Cultural Entrepreneurship. This issue provides a more detailed analysis of the main factors influencing the artistic and financial success of cultural entrepreneurs. I would like to express our gratitude to the guest editors, Marilena Vecco, Elmar Konrad and Petra Moog, for their strong commitment and intellectual rigour in the elaboration and realization of this special issue of the Journal.

In addition, we are very proud to offer an early analysis of the management of a major crisis at one of the world’s most renowned religious monuments. Amidst the shock following the fire at Notre-Dame de Paris on 15 April 2019, Anne Gombault has succeeded, probably for the first time in cultural management, to describe the way in which public authorities managed this highly symbolic and emotional crisis. She analyzes how the fragility of the governance, the risk assessment and the decision-making processes contributed to the disaster. She also draws lessons that could result in improved management of religious heritage throughout the world.
